WHAT IS A SORORITY? A sorority is an organization of collegiate women (actives) and alumnae dedicated to: SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship is an extremely vital component of Greek life. Academic achievement is the fundamental purpose of attending college and individual sororities recognize its importance. FRIENDSHIP Sorority life will help you make the most of your college experience as you join together with women who share your interests and ideals. You will make special friends and these bonds of friendship can last a lifetime. COMMUNITY SERVICE One of the most gratifying aspects of sorority life is the sense of satisfaction and pride that comes with involvement in community service. LEADERSHIP All sororities concentrate on helping members develop leadership abilities by offering opportunities for involvement in self-governance and program planning. You may become a chapter officer or perhaps represent your chapter through other organizations on campus. SOCIAL ACTIVITIES College life is not only about academics; it is also a time for social interaction and personal growth. Social and recreational activities give students an opportunity to meet and interact with a variety of new people and strengthen the bonds of friendship within your own chapter. !!FUN!!
